Delta Zeta welcomed the Xi Omega Chapter at Purdue University to the National Housing Corporation (NHC) in 2022. By joining NHC, the chapter gains the expertise of a property management staff that is dedicated to working with their everyday housing and property needs.
Xi Omega House Director, Kayle Eckerle, Zeta Nu-Ferris State (MI), shared that she has had the opportunity to see the house go through many changes throughout her nine years with the chapter and the switch to NHC has been the most positive of those changes. “I have had the opportunity to lead large projects and renovations over the years with our local alumnae board but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had no choice but to turn to National Headquarters for help. The switch to the NHC is the best move for the longevity of the chapter,” she said.
While the chapter’s hilltop home is still in the process of being updated, members can already see a difference and are excitedly waiting for the finishing touches. New flooring has been installed across every main area in the house, walls painted, bathrooms updated, and new furniture purchased for all main common areas. “The interior designers kept consistent communication with us about possible renovations, always listening to our opinions and taking into consideration our requests. Coming back from summer break was a refreshing surprise for all the sisters and we are all so incredibly thankful,” said Mairéad Kennedy, Chapter President.
Xi Omega can look forward to not only the new furnishings and completed updates of the house, but a continued renewed interest and desire among members to live in the chapter house. “With these renovations, members are excited to choose to live in the house. Overall, these renovations have given us a lot of positivity throughout the house, and house morale has been boosted because of it!” said Mairéad. During this fall’s recruitment as Mairéad shared that a lot of the newly initiated members mentioned that the Xi Omega house made the chapter stand out during recruitment.
A large portion of the chapter’s success over the years can be attributed to the dedication and support from the previous members of the Xi Omega Local Housing Board. The chapter is thrilled to welcome these alumnae back to their home on the hill once all updates are complete.
