Being a sorority woman is more than just wearing Greek letters—it’s about embodying values that shape our personal and professional lives. When you join a sorority like Delta Zeta, you’re not only becoming part of a sisterhood but also stepping into a network that opens countless doors to your future.
We’d love to know why you joined a sorority! Tell us your story on why you wanted to join Panhellenic and why Delta Zeta ended up being the one for you.

“I joined a sorority because I was looking for community and a sisterhood of great women. Being at the Texas State campus led me to notice the sense of Panhellenic love between all the chapters. From that point forward, I knew I had to give the sorority experience a chance. I knew joining Panhellenic was going to be the best fit for me. Panhellenic advocates for strong and fulfilling relationships between women who continuously lift each other up, which was exactly what I was looking for! I knew Delta Zeta was the one for me after I attended a “Meet the chapter” house event for potential new members. I was super nervous but overwhelmed with kindness from the moment I first stepped into the house. I remember making friendship bracelets and talking for hours with women I had just met, feeling like I had known them forever. As I walked out of Delta Zeta, I couldn’t help but think “WOW!” Those first conversations I had at Delta Zeta showed me a glimpse of the notion of “Love that is ever steadfast.””

“Throughout my childhood and into my high school years, I was a competitive dancer. I knew coming into college that I would need a support system just as I had with dance, and I wanted to find a group of women who shared my values and who would push me to be best version of myself, just as I had growing up. No one in my family was ever a part of Greek life, so at first, the idea made me nervous. However, once I saw what the Greek community had to offer, such as supporting philanthropies, Greek Show, Lip Sync performances and holding academics at high importance, I couldn’t wait to try it out! One of the first things I noticed when walking into the doors of Delta Zeta was how comfortable I was. I felt as if I could be unapologetically myself, and that was huge for me! The conversations I had were impactful, and it seemed as if each woman I was talking to genuinely cared for me and wanted to get to know me for who I was. It is frightening to be put in a place having conversations with people you don’t know, but with Delta Zeta, I didn’t feel uncomfortable. That is why I chose Delta Zeta to be my home!”

“I joined a sorority because I have always wanted to know what it is like to have a room full of lifetime sisters. I didn’t know anything about Panhellenic but I decided why not give it a try. After joining Delta Zeta, I knew I made the right choice. I went through spring recruitment so I didn’t have formal rounds like the fall, but regardless I loved every second I spent with Delta Zeta. After hanging out with the amazing women I get to call my sisters now, they were so welcoming and I cherished the same values they held as a chapter and knew this was my home. They made me feel comfortable and made so many new friendships along the way. Ever since joining Delta Zeta, I have made so many genuine friendships, the best Greek family and amazing memories I can cherish forever. I love all my sisters, my chapter and all the ones across the country. DZLAM!”
